Which survey /prospection / detection techniques do you use ?

The detection technique used in angiogeology is called quantum geophysics

Is the detection equipment for sale ?

No, we sell our survey services, not the equipment used to carry out surveys. This is the only way for us to guarantee the results.

Whenever high enthalpy water arteries are detected, how to determine their optimal use : hydrotherapy or electricity production ?

This is an excellent question. Only the measurements made after exploratory drilling make it possible to determine whether the discovered geothermal reservoir has the right properties in terms of acidity, mineralization and chemical composition for hydrotherapy and/or of balneotherapy.

We have empirically established that geothermal reservoirs exploitable for hydrotherapy are typically located at smaller depth and have a smaller flow rate than those exploitable for electrical energy production. They are also located in areas of more ancient volcanic activity. Hydrothermal exploitations are those associated with the highest added value (commercially). Deciding on the best use of high enthalpy reservoirs must integrate the following aspects:

  1. economical: like the local cost of energy and the standard of living,
  2. commercial: like the size and the characteristics of the target market,
  3. logistical: like the site accessibility or the difficulty to connect to the energy grid,
  4. ecological: like the protection of the local ecosystem,
  5. touristic: like the attraction of the location.

ANGIOO advises its customers on the best possible use of a site after the samples obtained from exploratory drilling have been analyzed.

How large does a territory need to be in order to achieve reasonable chances of discovering exploitable reservoirs ?

The territory surface is obviously not the sole criteria. Geological characteristics have, as one might expect, considerable influence. The surface of the territories to survey is measured - in the most favorable cases - in square kilometers.

We have often noticed that the potential of a site is underestimated because of the incapacity of competitive technologies to precisely locate productive collecting spots. Most of those surveys are made dependent on geothermal surface manifestations. However, only a negligible fraction of the geothermal reservoirs produce surface geothermal manifestations. The geothermal potential of a site is therefore substantially higher than what traditional geophysical survey techniques would suggest.

How do you cover your survey expenses ?

The survey expenses are covered by the incomes generated from previous surveys. A customer does not pay for "his" survey campaign. He remunerates ANGIOO in proportion of the benefits that he draws from our drilling specifications which, in turn, enables us to finance new surveys.

Prospection risk (i.e. the risks of not discovering exploitable reservoirs) are taken by ANGIOO, not by our customers.

Do you make offers based on call for tenders ?

No, because our fees are based on the benefits derived by our customers in exploiting the drilling location that we have specified. To our knowledge - and without claiming universal knowledge of the various national legislations - public contracts are not awarded on the basis of a results-based fee criterion which can range from 0 to whatever value associated with the agreed upon fraction of the revenues generated. Moreover, those fees are not, a priori, capped in time. If we work for public authorities, it is exclusively within the framework of a results-based contract.

Are you open to benchmark your surveys against those of your competitors?

ANGIOO does not fear being compared with its competitors. If a customer wants to consult several competitors, so much the better. Should a customer want to find out if we can do better than a competitor that has already completed a survey, we are open to base our fee on the added value that we deliver (w.r.t. our competitor's specifications). In that case, the added value rate is higher than the income-based rate that we normally apply.

How long does a survey campaign take ?

The elapsed time between the first contacts and the completion of a comprehensive survey is highly variable and, above all, dependent on the time needed to reach an agreement. When all legal and commercial aspects are finalized, the intervention time can be expressed in a few weeks.

We systematically give priority to customers having a drilling equipment on site.

If angiogeology has the potential described, why is it so little known?

Because everything has to have a beginning …

We strongly believe that it is just a question of time.
